On Monday February 28th Pearl the pony died. Sunday she fell ill, Olivia went to get her from the pasture and she was stumbling and falling over. She just stood with her head almost touching the ground and breathing very hard and shaking. We think she had cushings disease and pnuemonia. She was very loved and will be sorely missed. Olivia had a hard time understanding, she kept asking "What if I go walk her around and feed her, then she'll be ok?" and "She's not buried yet mom so let's go pet her." Sunday Bonnie our dog went missing, so poor Olivia had two of her beloved animals gone. Thankfully I found Bonnie at the animal shelter and she is now home and enjoying all of Olivia's attention and affection. Olivia is definitely learning first hand what it is to be a pet owner. Monday Chad went and bought her 4 baby chicks to take her mind off things. Tuesday morning one was dead. Olivia was sad but got over it pretty quickly.
In addition to the losses we have suffered this week we also have gained 2 horses and the baby chicks, obviously.Chad's new horse) is a 5 year old quarter horse, line back dun. He is a stud and the most docile laid back horse I've ever seen.
My horse is a 7 year old red dun, with a flaxen mane and tail. He is an awesome mover and I can't wait to start him on barrels. (
